A ruggedized, portable tablet with wireless connectivity for flexible gauge management is also available.
Seamless Integration for Converting Processes
The Series 9 Moisture/Coat-Weight Thickness Gauge readily integrates into new or existing converting lines through its comprehensive digital I/O and networking capabilities. Supporting industry-standard protocols such as EthernetIP, ProfinetIO, ModbusTCP, DeviceNet, and ProfibusDP, up to 16 sensors can be networked. Operating Principle
The Series 9 Converting Moisture/Coat-Weight Thickness Gauge utilises Near-Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy. This principle relies on the characteristic absorption of specific infrared wavelengths by moisture molecules or the coating material within the product. By emitting pulsed light at these key wavelengths and analysing the reflected light, the sensor precisely measures the absorption. Advanced algorithms and rapid signal processing enable direct and accurate determination of both moisture content and coat-weight for the material. The measurements remain stable despite variations in process conditions such as particle size, product thickness, temperature, ambient light, and humidity.
